Connection problems:
  • I can't connect to my media server at all, what's wrong?
  • Make sure that:
    1) The appropriate EasyMote plug-in is installed on your Media Center.
    2) Your phone is connected to your WiFi.
    3) You can "ping" your phones IP address from your PC.
    4) The plug-in is connecting using the right Network Adaptor. To learn how to change it, go to the question below regarding changing the Network Adaptor.
    5) Your firewall isn't blocking your Media Center or the port being used by EasyMote. If you need to use a different port, then look below to learn how to change it.


  • How do I change the port used for communication?
  • If you are using Media Portal, you can change the port number in the options for the EasyMote plug-in found in the Media Portal configuration program.
    If you are using Microsoft Media Center, you can start up the EasyMote Setup from "All programs -> EasyMote -> EasyMote Setup". Change the port number and click "OK".
    On your Windows 6.x phone select Options in the EasyMote Menu, and type in the desired number in the port field.
    You don't need to change anything on your Android phone as the port number is managed automatically from the PC.


  • How do I change which Network Adaptor to use on my Media Center?
  • If you are using Media Portal, you can change the Network Adaptor in the options for the EasyMote plug-in found in the Media Portal configuration program.
    If you are using Microsoft Media Center, you can start up the EasyMote Setup from "All programs -> EasyMote -> EasyMote Setup". Change the Network Adaptor and click "OK".


  • After lost connection I can't connect again. What should I do?
  • Please try to restart your Media Server program on your PC and the EasyMote program on your phone.

  • I see the message: "Waiting for wireless LAN" and a little "star" running around. What shall I do?
  • When EasyMote writes that it's waiting for wireless LAN, it means your phone is not connected to the your Wireless LAN network.
    Please make sure that you can access your network from the phone first.


MediaPortal problems:
  • Why is the album list empty or some of my albums missing when used with MediaPortal?
  • You need to rescan the music database in MediaPortal.

  • Why does MediaPortal crash shortly after start up?
  • This is due to a bug when no FM or streamed radio channels are configured in MediaPortal.
    To fix it, please update to the newest MediaPortal plugin found under download.


Microsoft Media Center problems:
  • EasyMote can't connect to my Media Center - what's wrong?
  • From the media Center program has started up, it may take several minutes before EasyMote can connect.
    If you still experience connection problems, then please see questions in the "Connection Problems" section above.


  • I get "INVALID APPLICATION - Unable to launch EasyMote Plugin"!
  • Try the following:
    1) Close the Media Center program
    2) Open a command prompt as administrator. (cmd)
    3) Change the path to c:\Program Files\BlueCoder.dk\EasyMote or c:\Program Files (x86)\BlueCoder.dk\EasyMote if you are running 64bit windows.
    4) Write: unregister [Enter] (you should see "Success" as result.)
    5) Write: register [Enter] (you should see "Success" as result.)
    6) Reboot the PC and try again.


  • How do I create a Media Center EasyMote plug-in log file?
  • Start the EasyMote Setup program (Start menu->All Programs->EasyMote)
    Then Enable Logging and click OK.
    Now start Media Center and leave it running for at least 10 minutes. Then try to use EasyMote until you see the problem.
    You will now find the generated log file in:
    C:\ProgramData\EasyMote\EasyMoteLog.txt
